About Manjit
(Tabla, Dholak & Dhol)
Manjit moved to Auckland from Ludhiana, Punjab, India to study Musicology at the University of Auckland. He has deep roots with Indian Classical Music and has been spreading the divinity of this form of music by performing at Concerts while in India and now internationally. He plays India's foremost percussion instrument; The Tabla drums and his virtuosity has helped him to become an educator over the past 10 years, his efforts culminating to establish his own "RHYTHM SCHOOL OF INDIAN MUSIC" in South Auckland with over 100 students of all ages and nationalities.
Manjit also plays an assortment of other Indian percussion instruments. This is Manjit's first NON Classical "adventure" with Nasha doing Bollywood and loves the fun and camaraderie of the group...and works in tandem with friend Ajit Singh Saini using Tabla, Dhol and Dholak drums to add the high energy pulsating Indian grooves into the mix.
Manjit performs quite regularly on the Auckland Circuit and produces his own Concerts and workshops both for Indian Classical as well as Jazz Fusion productions.
