Something out of the ordinary for NASHA, to collaborate with local Country musicians to bring to the community a Concert with Country & Western hits through the past few decades. Not the band's usual forte but Nasha took this on and it was a success by all counts, as expressed by those who attended. The Concert sold out 4 weeks before the date by friends and supporters of the band, which was quite unusual, with many requests for tickets on the day and a demand for a 2nd Country Music evening in the near future. Special guests were Keith Pereira, (the 2017 Auckland Country Music winner), plus Nick Jones (Mr. Violin) Cindy Pardo (Spanish Angel),Mel Hurst, Darryl & Carol Mendonsa and the Fonseca family - Ron, Natasha and Tanya with special guitarist Ravi Shah. The Concert was held on 28 April @ the Titirangi War Memorial Hall.
The band also raised funds for little 5 year old Ana Carolina to celebrate her 5th birthday. Ana has been hospitalised with a very rare disease since she was 5 months old and has never left the hospital. A tragic life for her parents, who've had to sell everything they owned to be with her 24/7 at the hospital for the past 4.5 years. Here's a link to their story. CHARMAINE MATTA: It was a great evening. It is wonderful knowing that there is do much talent among our deshis!!!!! Just one request...I think the audience should appreciate the music by staying quiet rather than have conversations, which got to a point where it was louder than the singing.
